Costume?
Every time I had an outside eye come to rehearsal I would ask them if they imagine any sort of costume. Usually nothing specific comes to mind, and my guess is that because the choreographies, musics, etc that I have are so different it's hard to find something that speaks to a wholeness of the piece. I am that through-line, but how do I dress?

Michalis, after seeing the first run ever, said that he could imagine me being naked the entire piece. I've also had suggestions of a dance belt but without too much enthusiasm.

When Ahmed was in town he wanted to go to the UdK Fundus to see if anything appeared to him. The only two things were jackets that were somehow larger than life, a bit theatrical yet somehow trying to be normal. We left with the big fur coat...it spoke to animal qualities since I have many in my movements, and my hair is quite mammalian. It also is a bit rock star and grundy like Janis Joplin, and it's also like a grandmother...something maybe wise, wrinkly, old, a bit odd...a bit witchy.

I tried some looks in the studio with personal items and then I went to different costume stores to try to find anything that could fit this piece. I was looking for similar qualities to what Ahmed was intuiting when we were at the Fundus.

I sent him all these pictures, and he replied in horror at all of them.

Nudity was the best choice since I could not find anything else that was making sense.

In the show itself though, my sweat starts to become a costume in the light. For future developments, I can work more with this fact.
